You know what really caught me off guard about Plaza de Armas? It’s literally right there on the edge of Seville’s old quarter, tucked into this narrow street that feels impossibly historic, but somehow the hotel doesn’t feel cramped or dark like you’d expect. I mean, Calle Fray Diego de Deza isn’t exactly a street you’d stumble across – it’s one of those winding lanes that locals use as shortcuts between the cathedral area and the river, which actually works out perfectly because you’re steps from everything without dealing with the tourist chaos on Avenida de la Constitución.

The building itself has this gorgeous Sevillian charm – think traditional tiles and ironwork that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. What impressed me most was how they’ve managed to blend the historic bones with genuinely comfortable modern touches. The rooms aren’t huge (honestly, what do you expect in a 16th-century building?), but they’re thoughtfully designed with proper air conditioning that actually works during those brutal July afternoons. The staff really knows their stuff too – they’ll tell you exactly when to visit the Alcázar to avoid the worst crowds, or which tapas bars in Santa Cruz are worth the walk versus the ones that are just tourist traps.

Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites don’t tell you: you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the cathedral, but you’re also close enough to the Guadalquivir that you can easily stroll down to the Triana bridge for sunset drinks. Plus – and this matters if you’re driving – they’ve got arrangements with nearby parking garages because, let’s be real, you’re not parking on these medieval streets. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which I appreciated, though you’ll still hear the occasional horse-drawn carriage clip-clopping by (it’s Seville, after all). Breakfast was solid – nothing revolutionary, but proper jamón ibérico and local oranges, served in this lovely courtyard that makes you feel like you’re staying at someone’s elegant family home rather than a chain hotel. The 8.7 rating honestly feels about right – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails that sweet spot of authentic location, genuine comfort, and staff who actually seem to care about whether you have a good time in their city.

  Great location, close to everything in the old town and within easy walking distance. Apartment had all of the necessary amenities, was clean and tidy with beautiful decor and lovely creative touches.

  the access to the apartment is very easy with airport transportatiton, they gave a code to enter the apartment and flat so it worked easily, flat is very clean and was thought everything like cofees, dishwasher tablets, additional towels, blankets etc. the location of the apartment is very centre of the city, there are restaurants, cafes, big market(mekadona) close to the place, only 5 minute walk to the many touristic areas. at first day we arrived, we made shopping for the breakfast of our three days accomodation.
  
  What could be improved: the flat was in the street and room was a bit fark but it doesnt a matter because we saw a lot outside. Also coffee machine was leaking but it works, doesnt matter

  The apartment was just what we needed. It was very clean & although centrally located (very handy for the bus station) it was really quiet, being down a quiet & tidy side street. Although there was no reception on site the staff were really responsive and super helpful. We had one issue with a broken door handle and they fixed it in a morning as they knew we had to go to a wedding.
  
  What could be improved: I liked everything about the apartment- it does have any outside space but we didn’t mind as we spent so much time outside sightseeing!

  Door code was sent promptly by the host before I arrived. Easy and nice. Facilities were very comfortable (even though the layout is slightly different than normal.
  
  What could be improved: The TV could provide some options of English channels. There were a LOT of channels but I couldnt find anything in English, everything was in Spanish
