You know what caught me off guard about Pop Art? The name makes it sound like some kitschy tourist trap, but honestly, this place is way more sophisticated than that. I mean, yes, there’s definitely some playful art throughout – think bold colors and geometric patterns rather than tacky cartoon prints – but the real star here is that rooftop terrace. When you’re up there in the evening with a glass of wine, looking out over the terracotta rooftops of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, you sort of forget you’re staying in what’s essentially a boutique apartment hotel.

The location on Calle Gerona is actually perfect if you know Seville at all. You’re right in the thick of the old town action – I could literally hear the clip-clop of horse carriages from the street-facing windows – but far enough from the main tourist drags that you’re not dealing with constant noise. The Cathedral’s bells wake you up around 8 AM (fair warning), but there’s something oddly charming about that after a day or two. What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. The Alcázar is maybe a five-minute stroll, and you can duck into Bodega Santa Cruz for tapas without even thinking about it. Parking though? Well, let’s just say I’m glad I didn’t rent a car – these streets weren’t exactly designed for modern vehicles.

The rooms themselves have this clean, contemporary vibe that works surprisingly well with the historic building bones. The air conditioning actually works (crucial in Seville summers), and I loved the little kitchen setup – nothing fancy, but perfect for morning coffee or keeping some jamón and cheese from the market. The rooftop space is where you’ll spend most of your time anyway. It’s got this intimate, almost secret garden feel, especially at sunset when the whole city turns golden. I met other guests up there naturally – it’s that kind of place where you end up chatting with people without it feeling forced. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not luxury hotel perfect, but it’s got character and charm that those big chain places can’t touch. If you’re the type who values location and authentic neighborhood feel over fancy lobbies and room service, this hideaway really delivers on its name.

  We loved this apartment! It was clean, bed was comfy, shower good and roof top terrace amazing!!

  Communication with the host was excellent to get door codes for our check-in. The apt is in an amazing part of town, with a great roof top terrace, exactly as advertised. Kitchen was well stocked with basic supplies. We'll definitely be recommending this to our friends!

  This apartment is really spacious, clean, and in a great location. Host is very responsive and helpful.

  Very spacious apartment with all the amenities needed and great location! We walked to all the main sights and there were some excellent tapas bars around. The host sent a video on how to access the apartment which helped a lot!

  Great location, modern, and clean.
  
  I was required to submit some personal information through a link provided by the host. I'd recommend having a local SIM card or internet roaming, as the host prefers to communicate through WhatsApp. The host responded quickly and provided assistance while we were not able to unlock the room door (with code).
  
  The rooftop is definitely a highlight.
  
  What could be improved: Overall was clean, although I did see some ants around the countertop.
