Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville, and Puerta Catedral Indias Lofts is one of those spots that just gets it right. The moment you walk up Calle Miguel Mañara – and honestly, good luck finding it on your first try because these old town streets are basically a beautiful maze – you realize this isn’t your typical hotel setup. It’s tucked into this gorgeous converted building that feels like someone’s incredibly stylish apartment, which I guess is sort of the point with the whole loft concept.

What really struck me is how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Sevillan character without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The spaces have these high ceilings and original architectural details that make you want to just sit there with your morning coffee and stare at the walls (in a good way). And you know what? The coffee’s actually decent too, which isn’t always a given in hotel situations. The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things – I mean, you’re literally steps from the cathedral, which is both amazing and slightly overwhelming when the tour groups descend around 10 AM. But here’s the thing locals know: early morning and late evening in this neighborhood are absolutely magical, when the narrow streets are yours and you can actually hear your footsteps on the cobblestones.

The staff seems to actually live in Seville, which sounds obvious but trust me, it’s not always the case. They gave me directions to this tiny tapas place down near Plaza del Salvador that I never would have found otherwise – the kind of spot where the menu is scrawled on a chalkboard and the jamón ibérico is transcendent. I also appreciated that they were upfront about the noise situation during Semana Santa and Feria (basically, forget about sleeping, but embrace the chaos). The rooms themselves are spacious by European standards, and the beds are properly comfortable, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get in boutique places. One small thing – the shower pressure is fantastic, which matters more than you think after a day of walking around this city in the heat. The whole place has this 9.1 rating that honestly feels about right. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Seville, but it nails that sweet spot of character, comfort, and location that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing the city rather than just visiting it. Plus, parking in this part of town is basically impossible anyway, so the fact that you can walk everywhere from here isn’t just convenient – it’s essential.

  Location could not have been better. Apartment was very spacious, well equipped, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Would absolutely stay there again.
  
  What could be improved: We were disappointed by the convoluted digital entry system running off an App that needed to be downloaded. Numerous pre-arrival communications failed to resolve our confusion (we are not all Gen Z!). Two different staff attempted to resolve that matter post-arrival, but we were ultimately given a key card to open the door – genius! We are tech-savvy and experienced world travellers recently turned 70. People like us tend to treat short stay accommodation very respectfully. It would be a pity if our demographic was turned away by overly complicated entry procedures.

  Perfect location – very close to Real Alcazar and Catedral de Sevilla. However, Plaza de Espańa and Parque de Maria Luiza and river are also walking distance.
  
  Contact with the host was perfect.
  Close to the apartment there are plenty places for the breakfast.
  
  What could be improved: Lack of parking. However, Host recommended us parking nearby which worked perfectly ok.

  What could be improved: We had to download an app to get the access code to the apartment. That was fine – but the code didn’t work one night and we got locked out! We had to contact someone to help us get inside – this was very inconvenient.

  The location was excellent and our keys were delivered electronically so we were able to checkin outside normal reception hours. The loft bedroom was comfortable and the lounge/kitchen area more than adequate.
  
  What could be improved: Bathroom bench space could have been improved with small shelves next to the hand basin but everything else was good.
