Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Puerta de Armas? The moment you step inside from Calle Gravina, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s honestly pretty remarkable considering you’re literally in the heart of Seville’s old town. I mean, we’re talking about a street that’s maybe a three-minute walk from the Cathedral – you can actually hear the bells if you’re on the upper floors, which is either charming or slightly annoying depending on how you feel about being woken up at 7 AM (personally, I loved it).

The apartments themselves have this perfect balance of modern comfort without trying too hard to be trendy. The kitchens are actually functional – not those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely make coffee. I spent a morning making tortilla española with ingredients from the little market on Calle Feria, and honestly, having that space to spread out made the whole trip feel less touristy and more like I was actually living in Seville for a bit. The air conditioning works properly too, which if you’ve ever been in Seville in July, you’ll understand is basically non-negotiable. What I really appreciated was how quiet the place stays despite being on such a central street – the building’s thick walls do their job, though you’ll still catch snippets of late-night conversations from people wandering back from the tapas bars around Plaza del Salvador.

The location is sort of ridiculously perfect, but not in that overwhelming way where you’re constantly dodging tour groups. Gravina is just residential enough that you feel like you’ve got a real address in the city, but step out the door and you’re genuinely two minutes from some of the best bars in the Santa Cruz area. There’s this tiny place called Bar Eslava just around the corner that locals actually go to – not just tourists who found it on Instagram. And here’s something nobody tells you: the nearest parking is at Plaza de Armas (hence the name, I’m guessing), which is about a seven-minute walk. Not terrible, but worth knowing if you’re driving. The building doesn’t have an elevator, by the way, so if stairs are an issue, definitely mention that when you book. But honestly, after a few days of Seville’s incredible food scene, I was grateful for any excuse to move around. The whole experience just felt authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find – like staying at a friend’s place rather than checking into another generic hotel room.

    What could be improved: I would strongly recomend using better cleaning solutions that don't have fragrances. When you walk in the lobby and in the room it smells so strong like chemical fragrances. It really takes away from the experience. No plug in fragrances. they are just toxic chemicals.

    Great location, near garage. Comfortable and clean. Very well equipted. Bottle of vine as a very nice gesture.

    What could be improved: I thought we had booked an apartment with a hot tub as there was one featured on the photos but I should have checked when booking and it could have been made clearer that I was booking an apartment with out one.

    So charming! We loved the decor and amenities in our 1 bedroom suite. Bed was awesome, sheets and towels quite luxe. Location wonderful; we were able to comfortably explore the old town on foot. Shout out to laundry facilities on site, which we took full advantage of. Highly recommended, and we will be back.

    I loved the location. It was very close to everything that we were looking for but quiet at night for sleeping. Great coffee around the corner. There was a little welcome basket. The place was clean and we loved the bathroom. We highly recommend for anyone staying in Sevilla.
