Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Puerta Real Apartamentos on Calle Goles, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots are the ones that completely surprise you, and this little gem tucked into Seville’s old town absolutely nailed it.

The location is actually kind of perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the real Seville rather than just visiting it. You’re right in the heart of the old quarter – I mean, you can practically hear the cathedral bells from your window – but it’s on this quiet residential street that most tourists never stumble down. The building itself has that weathered Andalusian charm (think traditional white walls and wrought iron balconies), and honestly, walking through the narrow entrance feels a bit like stepping into someone’s family home. The apartments are surprisingly spacious for European standards, with actual kitchens that you can cook in, not those tiny hotel kitchenettes that barely fit a coffee maker. I spent most evenings picking up ingredients from the little market on Plaza del Salvador – just a two-minute walk – and making simple dinners while listening to flamenco guitar drifting up from the street below.

What really gets me about this place is how it strikes that sweet spot between authentic and comfortable. The staff actually lives in the neighborhood and can tell you which tapas bars the locals hit up (skip the touristy ones near the cathedral and head to the tiny places along Calle Mateos Gago instead). The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days there – it’s not fancy, but everything just works. The Wi-Fi is solid, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the beds are actually comfortable, which… well, anyone who’s stayed in budget places around Europe knows that’s not always a given. The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re bringing a car, parking can be tricky since you’re in the old town where streets are barely wide enough for pedestrians, but there’s a decent public garage about five minutes away. Also, if you’re a super light sleeper, just know that Spanish life happens late and loudly – but honestly, that’s part of the charm. I found myself staying up later just listening to the neighborhood come alive after 10 PM. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because you realize you’ve accidentally found your temporary home base in one of Spain’s most magical cities.

    The space, layout, location. The host was very helpful and sent the keysafe code number and all instructions for the car pakjing beforehand as well as recommendations of things to do. The apartment itself was a great space qnd loved the decor.

    The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped. It is well located to many sites in Seville. We appreciated having access to free parking. Having the market across the street was very convenient.
    Our host was more than helpful and communicative with suggestions and questions.
    We will return some time soon.

    The apartment is adorable, clean and fragrant, with lots of light… you have absolutely everything you need. From dishes, bedding, shampoo… we were delighted with the coffee machine. The host was helpful and nice, we were greeted with coffee and sweets, check-in was super easy…
    Parking is close and practical.
    It's about a 10-minute walk to the center, but the neighborhood is quiet, we felt safe. In the neighborhood you have a bar, a shop, a fruit shop, a restaurant, a large supermarket… everything. We would come back there again. 🙂

    Beautifully appointed apartment with a great combination of modern amenities and charming decor. Nice home away from home while traveling. Owner was very responsive to any concerns/questions and provided excellent timely self check in/check out instruction. Parking was in a nearby lot. Grocery store, fruit market and cafés all steps from the front door. Walked or biked to all the city’s main attractions.

    Nice location with a very equipped kitchen. Has AC, wifi and plenty of space. You are the only one on the floor and the parking is not too far.
