Radisson Collection Hotel, Magdalena Plaza Sevilla Overview
You know what struck me first about the Radisson Collection at Plaza de la Magdalena? It’s actually right there in the heart of Seville’s old town, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy at all. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Cathedral – I could hear the bells from my room – but the square itself has this surprisingly local vibe, especially in the evenings when the hotel’s facade lights up and locals are just hanging out at the cafés nearby.
The building itself is gorgeous, honestly. They’ve done this restoration that keeps all the historical bones but adds these really thoughtful modern touches. The lobby has these high ceilings that make you feel the weight of the place’s history, but then there are these contemporary art pieces that actually work instead of feeling forced. Check-in was smooth (thank god, because I was melting after walking around in August heat), and the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the city – not just the obvious tourist spots, but actual recommendations for where to grab tapas away from the crowds on Calle Betis.
My room faced the plaza, which I was initially worried might be noisy, but it was actually perfect. You get these glimpses of daily Sevillian life – people meeting for coffee, kids playing – without the chaos of being on one of the main shopping streets. The room itself felt luxurious but not stuffy, if that makes sense. Really comfortable bed (crucial after all that walking on cobblestones), and the bathroom had this rainfall shower that was honestly a lifesaver during the summer heat.
What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. The Alcázar is maybe a five-minute stroll, and you can easily wander over to the Santa Cruz neighborhood or head toward the river without dealing with any of the tourist bus madness. Plus – and this is key if you’re driving – they actually have parking solutions, which is basically a miracle in Seville’s old town. The hotel concierge helped us figure out the whole car situation without the usual runaround.
The restaurant downstairs serves this elevated Andalusian cuisine that doesn’t feel like hotel food at all. I had this octopus dish that was incredible, and they source a lot of ingredients locally, which you can actually taste. The rooftop terrace is where you want to be for sunset drinks – you get these views over the city’s rooftops and church spires that remind you why people have been falling in love with Seville for centuries.
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of five-star places that feel generic despite their fancy ratings, but this one gets it right. It’s polished and comfortable without losing the soul of where it is. You’re staying in a piece of Seville’s history, but with really good Wi-Fi and air conditioning that actually works. For a city where you’ll be doing a lot of walking and want to come back to somewhere that feels like a proper retreat, this place delivers.

Very nice Hotel in the heart of Seville. The staff were very nice and attentive. The room comfortable. Reacted to issues very promptly with solutions.
What could be improved: We had an incident in our shower – water coming down from the above room / shower. However, we were offered a new room but as it happened 2 nights before checking out, we declined.Adolfo from Mexico – 15 May 2025 (10/10)
Great location ! Very good service , pretty and very modern new rooms
What could be improved: Very easy place , love it 🥰John from United Kingdom – 23 April 2025 (9/10)
Staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful.
The décor was chic and comfortable throughout the hotel.
The superior room was elegantly styled and extremely comfortable.
The cleanliness was exceptionally high.
What could be improved: The breakfast was good, although limited selection relative to the price per night charged, during Holy Week
The roof top bar/pool/lounger area looked a rather uncared and not presented well, in terms of set-up making it less than welcoming e.g. covers on chairs, bar closed, plants dead or dying – requiring attention, relative to a 4-Star hotel.Diane from United Kingdom – 19 April 2025 (9/10)
Breakfast was good. The buffet area is a little tight when busy but food choice was good.

The location was perfect and the staff super friendly and helpful. The room was dual aspect and the Sevilla sun shone to light it up.

Pam from United Kingdom – 1 April 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location for exploring the city in any direction. Very comfortable bed with exceptional soft quality bed linens. Quiet room, no noise from the lift of corridor. free water left in the room each day. very willing and helpful staff.
What could be improved: I cannot think of anything that I didn't like as the location was perfect and I slept very well.
