Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Seville over the years, and REY DE SEVILLA FLATS on Calle Harinas honestly surprised me. You know how sometimes you book a place and hope for the best? Well, this one actually delivered – and I mean that in the best way possible.
The location is what really got me first. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the old town, just a couple minutes’ walk from the Cathedral (you can actually hear the bells if you listen for them in the morning, which is either charming or annoying depending on how late you stayed out on Calle Betis the night before). What’s great about Harinas street specifically is that it’s tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant stream of tour groups, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The Alcázar is maybe a five-minute stroll, and honestly, being able to duck back to your room when the afternoon heat hits – that’s priceless in Seville summers.
The flats themselves have this nice balance of modern comfort without trying too hard to be boutique-y, if that makes sense. The rooms are well-designed, actually functional (you know how some places look great but then you can’t figure out where to put your suitcase?), and the air conditioning works properly – trust me, you’ll appreciate that detail. I stayed during April, which is perfect timing by the way, and even then it was getting warm by midday. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They actually gave me solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. Speaking of which, there’s this little tapas place around the corner on Calle Alemanes that they mentioned – definitely worth finding.
What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. The building seems well-insulated, and Harinas isn’t one of those streets where people are stumbling around at 3 AM (looking at you, Alfalfa area). You get proper sleep, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to cover a lot of ground sightseeing. The morning light comes in nicely too – there’s something about the way it hits those old Seville buildings that just feels right.
If I’m being completely honest, the only thing that threw me off was parking – but that’s true for basically anywhere in the old town. You’re better off just using the public transport or walking anyway. The whole area is so compact and walkable that having a car feels more like a burden than anything else. Plus, you get to wander down those narrow streets and actually notice things – the tile work, the hidden plazas, the way locals hang their laundry. That’s the real Seville experience right there.
Bottom line: if you want to stay somewhere that feels authentically located without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t need some massive resort-style setup, this place hits the mark. It’s got that 9-rating for good reason – everything just works the way it should, without any unpleasant surprises.

The location is exceptional, close to tourist attractions, bars and restaurants. The apartment is clean, basic but sufficient. The host is responsive, responds to messages in a timely manner and allowed us to enter the apartment a little early.
What could be improved: The bedrooms are a bit noisy, they don't have external windows, the windows are towards the stairwell, they are not well insulated and therefore you can hear the elevator all the time and the neighbors going up or down.
