Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Seville, but San Lorenzo Penthouse honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and cross your fingers? Well, this actually exceeded what I was expecting. The building sits right on Calle Cardenal Spínola, which is this quiet little street that somehow manages to be smack in the middle of everything without feeling touristy. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral, but you won’t hear groups of tourists dragging their suitcases over cobblestones at 7 AM.

The penthouse itself – okay, when they say penthouse, they really mean it. You get this gorgeous terrace space that looks out over the old town rooftops, and honestly, I spent way too much time up there with my morning coffee just watching the city wake up. The apartment feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile (you know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever stayed in those cookie-cutter hotel rooms), and whoever designed it actually thought about how people move through a space. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab some jamón and cheese from the mercado – there’s a great little one just a few blocks down on Calle Feria that locals actually shop at. What surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re right in the centro histórico. The building’s got thick walls, I guess, because even during Semana Santa week when I was there, I slept like a baby.

Getting there was easier than I thought it’d be – no nightmare narrow streets that your taxi can’t navigate, which is honestly half the battle in Seville’s old town. The host was super responsive, which you can’t always count on with these vacation rentals. One small thing: the stairs up to the apartment are a bit steep (it’s an old building, what do you expect?), so maybe not ideal if you’re traveling with heavy bags or mobility issues. But that 9.6 rating isn’t just fluff – this place gets the details right. Good water pressure, reliable WiFi, air conditioning that actually works when it’s 40 degrees outside in July. Sometimes it’s the basic stuff that makes or breaks a trip, you know? If you’re looking for something that feels authentically Sevillano but with modern comfort, and you want to be able to walk to everything worth seeing, this is it.

  • Mark from United Kingdom – 13 June 2025 (10/10)

Carlos was very easy to deal with and responded to our questions.
Situated in a quiet area so close to all the sites, which we did with great enjoyment.
It had everything you’d need to stay an cook a meal, which we chose not to and ate out during our stay

What could be improved: No negatives at all, a great place to stay

  • Sophie from United Kingdom – 2 June 2025 (10/10)

Brilliant apartment, had everything you needed for a city break away. Very central, comfy beds, clean and tidy. Great host, really polite and helpful too over email.

What could be improved: Everything was great!

  • Sarah from Australia – 27 April 2025 (10/10)

This was a favourite of ours. Spacious, nicely decorated, great beds and shower in a really cute little lane. The roof terrace was a treat.

What could be improved: A bit noisy at night with deliveries as most inner city Spain accomodation is.

  • Alice from United States – 30 March 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful Seville Charm. We loved our stays. The place was beautiful. Rooftop area was wonderful. The owner was super responsive and flexible . Highly recommend.

  • Boris from Israel – 5 November 2022 (10/10)

Great location inside urban area with lot of restrains and shops (MAC&Go is really good and provide everything tourist needs with pretty good assortment) that local residents use (not only tourist oriented). The property itself is exactly aligned to photo presented on the site. In the apartment there is everything we needed included washing machine and dish washer. Great open terrace on second floor, very comfortable to drink Spanish wine on evening. Very clean, very comfortable. Carlos is a great host, he met us on check in, explained everything and helped to order taxi when we left.

  • Anca from Ireland – 3 March 2025 (8/10)

The location was close to the centre of Seville; 15/20 minutes walk from most of the attractions, restaurants, parks, shops.
We particularly liked the living area, the balcony and the coffee machine (Nespresso 🙂
The host, Carlos, was very helpful and prompt in replying to us.

What could be improved: We had everything we needed. I would recommend for the future to have an umbrella or two for rainy forecast.

  • Dicle from United Kingdom – 15 June 2025 (8/10)

Like a design house. There is everything and good quality. Location is not great but it was okay. We liked the experience.

What could be improved: Could be cleaner. Specifically the bathrooms.
Also inside is a bit dark, doesn't get lots of light.

  • Antonia from Canada – 1 January 2023 (6/10)

What could be improved: To start with – this is not a two bedroom apartment – it is a one bedroom due to second bed being in a loft area which is extremely small (fits a double bed) and leads to the patio. The so called "second bedroom" did not have a door separating it from the living room. Not fair to lie about this!!!
In addition, two of the beds were extremely squeaky and impossible to move in any direction during the night without waking up everyone.
The whole apartment needs a major cleanup and touch ups everywhere – walls need new paint, patio is quite dated and moldy – it needs new patio furniture and cleaning of the wooden floor; it's quite unenjoyable to sit there due to dirt and unclean patio furniture.
Every equipment in the apartment seemed cheap and proved just for the sake of being able to say it's there for you, but not well thought of, especially if you're planning a longer stay or possibly preparing a meal there – don't think it's an option at all.
The bedding was also very old and not very tidy. The towels were very old too – cannot imagine re-using these for so long…
Finally, the host was kind upon arrival, but promised to send us some New Year's eve recommendations and suggestions for restaurants, but never got back to us. Simply texted me that we need to vacate the apt on Jan 1 at 11:00am while the information on booking.com never mentioned anything like that, claiming that cleaning takes 3 hours while check in time for next visitor starts at 4:00pm
