Hotel Description

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to San Luis Luxury House, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The address literally just says “1 San Luis” which sounds almost too simple for Seville’s old town, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re right in the thick of the historic quarter here, and I mean really in it – not on some touristy strip where every other building is selling flamenco magnets.

The terrace situation is what really sold me on this place. Now, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that promise “stunning views” and deliver a nice look at the neighboring building’s air conditioning units, but this one actually delivers. You’re up there with your morning coffee (they do a proper cortado, by the way) looking out over those maze-like streets that make Seville’s old town so ridiculously photogenic. The terrace gets morning sun but isn’t blazing hot in the afternoon – whoever designed this thing knew what they were doing. There’s something about being able to escape up there after a day of wandering around the Cathedral and Alcázar that just… works, you know?

What I really appreciate about staying here is how it puts you right where locals actually live and work. You’ll hear the sounds of real neighborhood life – the guy who delivers bread on his motorbike every morning around 8, kids playing in the narrow streets in the early evening when it finally cools down. The whole area smells like orange blossoms in spring (seriously, it’s almost overwhelming in the best way), and you’re a genuine five-minute walk to Plaza del Salvador where people actually go for tapas, not just tourists following guidebooks. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not perfect, and honestly the WiFi can be a bit spotty on the lower floors, but there’s something authentic about the place that you don’t get at those big chain hotels near the river. Plus, and this matters more than you’d think, the check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no complicated key card systems, just someone who clearly knows the neighborhood well giving you the rundown on where to find the best late-night churros.

We loved the property, it had everything you needed and the terrace is so beautiful. There is a bakery and supermarket beside it which is super handy.

What could be improved: There are a lot of steps which we did not mind but would not be ideal for children or elderly people.

  • Kristina from Malta – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

We had access to the roof, where you could enjoy a nice book or a good coffee, the view from thereis superb as the property is next to the church. The living area is just lovely, full of light.

  • James from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

We loved the house as it was both modern and Spanish city style. The best feature was the terrace and view out of the terrace and living room out to the church and small square area (not blocked by any buildings opposite). We had a very enjoyable stay. The communication from the hosts was exceptional – friendly and helpful. It was good to have a door code rather than keys for entry as well.

What could be improved: It didn’t detract from our stay (as we know this will be a feature in almost every similar place in Seville) but there is a drain smell in the ground and first floor bathrooms which is quite noticeable. A quirk of city living and not something I think can be easily fixed. The only other small gripes were the glass table in the living room is very wobbly as one of the struts has come unstuck – not good for our small children and keeping glasses/plates from falling over. We’ve also stayed in similar places with a much better range of kitchen utensils, crockery, pans and basic essentials, albeit it was fine as we made do.

  • Zoe from United Kingdom – 24 February 2024 (9/10)

The house is very well located just outside of the main tourist area, close to a lot of great restaurants. The house is set over four floors – ground floor: bedroom and full bathroom, 1st floor: main bedroom, loft bed room and full bathroom, 2nd floor: living room, kitchen and toilet room, 3rd floor: terrace with sunroom. The space could easily fit a small family or three couples. The terrace is lovely with views of the nearby square and church. There were lots of towels, extra pillows and the kitchen was stocked with basic essentials (salt, oil, etc). We absolutely LOVED our stay here and would book again.
I would 100% recommend booking this place!!

  • Babitha from United Kingdom – 3 December 2023 (8/10)

    Beautiful apartment, lovely location

What could be improved: Water started leaking ground floor room when it started raining heavy apart from that lovely apartment

  • Oana from Romania – 4 November 2023 (9/10)

Location close to city center, around 25min to downtown.

What could be improved: Everything was good, a bit too stip steps for my mother to climb.

  • Ranjeet from United Kingdom – 5 September 2023 (9/10)

Very nice property. 4 floors including the roof with 2 showers and 3 toilets. Overall a wonderful experience.

  • Janis from Germany – 31 March 2024 (7/10)

Location is great and you can tell that they put a lot of money and effort into the renovation of the house. I liked the layout but it’s not for everyone with all the stairs. The kitchen is very well equipped. No need to to buy salt, oil, dishwashing things etc. Internet is fast and works in the living room and the master bedroom. Lots of tapas places around and within 10 minutes you are by the main cathedral. Value for money? Not sure because there were some issues that need to be addressed…

What could be improved: As much as I liked the place there were some downsides. Hot water went on and off. Only after almost a day I got told that the handy man can’t come but I got instructions on how to fix it myself. Unfortunately, we had to do that sometimes several times a day. It requires going on the rooftop and press some button which is not very pleasant at night and/or during rain storms. It did spoil some of our mornings/evenings 🙁

Although, generally this place was very clean we found out that they don’t wash blankets after new tenants move in. This is a problem (for us) if there are no regular blanket covers but lose sheets that always untangle when you move at night leaving you with nothing but the blanket on top of you. Please either get good covers or wash the blankets.

Last but not least, I think it would be great to be able to lock the door from the inside to feel more secure. Anyone on the street or in the bar opposite the entrance could get a glimpse of the code and either wait til everyone left or is asleep.

  • Dóra from Hungary – 20 May 2025 (8/10)

rooftop nice, kitchen and entire property well-equipped. Location good, but not that much central as expacted.

What could be improved: actually, this is a 4-storey house, steep steps all over – ok for friends / adults (toilets in each storey) but not that much for families

  • Tracey from United Kingdom – 16 June 2025 (9/10)

Very spacious apartment, clean, plenty appliances e.g. iron, hairdryer etc

What could be improved: Stairs leading up to roof terrace were steep and narrow, so not ideal for children.
