You know what caught me off guard about Santa Catalina? It’s actually tucked into this impossibly narrow street in the heart of Seville’s old quarter, and I mean *old* – we’re talking about cobblestones that have been worn smooth by centuries of foot traffic. The thing is, Calle Feijóo isn’t one of those tourist-trap streets lined with souvenir shops. It’s got this authentic residential feel where you’ll hear actual Sevillanos chatting from their balconies in the evening, which honestly makes the whole experience feel less like staying in a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste.

The building itself has that classic Andalusian charm – you walk through these heavy wooden doors into a cool, tiled courtyard that’s such a relief after wandering around in Seville’s brutal summer heat. I was there in June and honestly thought I might melt into the pavement, but stepping inside was like finding an oasis. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day (which is rarer than you’d think), and they’ve got this way of giving recommendations that aren’t just the obvious Cathedral-Alcázar-Giralda circuit everyone does. They pointed me toward this tiny tapas place on Calle Mateos Gago that I never would’ve found otherwise – definitely not the kind of spot that shows up in guidebooks but serves tortilla española that’ll ruin you for anywhere else.

What really won me over though was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral, but somehow the street stays quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with paper-thin walls in some of Seville’s budget places). The Barrio Santa Cruz maze is right there when you want to get lost in those Instagram-worthy alleyways, but you’re also close enough to cross the river to Triana for dinner without needing a taxi. Plus – and this is crucial if you’re planning to stay out late – you won’t have any trouble finding your way back even after a few glasses of manzanilla. The street is distinctive enough that even GPS-challenged travelers (guilty) can navigate it. I mean, parking is still a nightmare if you’re driving, but that’s just Seville for you. The real charm is being able to step out your door and immediately be part of the rhythm of the old city – morning coffee at the corner bar, evening paseo with the locals, that sort of thing that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing Seville instead of just checking it off a list.

  Mooi appartement in het noorden van het centrum van Sevilla. Het is ca. 15 minuten lopen naar de kathedraal en ca. 20 minuten naar station Santa Justa. Fijne bedden en goede douche! Keuken aanwezig met alle benodigdheden.
  
  What could be improved: Hoewel het appartement rustig gelegen is, is het elke avond erg druk bij de cervecería aan het einde van de straat. Dit geeft wat geluidsoverlast met de ramen open, maar er is ook airconditioning uiteraard om te gebruiken.

  Bonito apartamento situado en el centro de Sevilla, a poca distancia andando de todos los sitios de interés. Tiene todo lo que necesitas para pasar unos días en tu propio apartamento con cocina, etc. El salón es súper agradable, y la habitación tranquila y cómoda.
  
  What could be improved: Trato muy frío por parte de la propiedad. Es un negocio de pisos turísticos y la persona que te viene a dar las llaves no sabe nada, simplemente te las da y se va. Y cuando te vas dejas las llaves dentro y ya está.
