Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Seville, and Santa Paula Pool & Luxury actually surprised me – in a good way. The name makes it sound a bit flashy, but honestly, it’s more understated than you’d expect. You’re right in the heart of the old town on Calle Santa Paula, which is this narrow cobblestone street that feels like you’ve stepped back a few centuries. The building itself has that classic Sevillian architecture with the whitewashed walls and wrought iron balconies, but inside they’ve done this really nice job of mixing old-world charm with modern comfort without going overboard.

The pool is definitely the star here – and I mean, you’re going to need it if you visit in summer because Seville gets brutally hot. It’s not huge, but it’s perfectly sized for the property and has this lovely courtyard setting with orange trees around the edges. You know what I really appreciated? The pool area never felt crowded, even when they seemed pretty booked up. The rooms are solid four-star quality – nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable, air conditioning works well (crucial in Seville), and the bathrooms are nicely updated. I will say the rooms facing the street can get a bit noisy, especially on weekend nights when people are walking to the bars in Santa Cruz, but that’s pretty much unavoidable anywhere in this part of town.

What really makes this place work is the location – you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Cathedral and maybe seven minutes to the Royal Alcázar. But here’s the thing locals know: you’re also super close to some of the best tapas bars that tourists never find. There’s this tiny place called Bar Eslava just around the corner that does incredible montaditos, and you can walk to Calle Betis along the river in about ten minutes for sunset drinks. The staff actually gave me good recommendations too, which doesn’t always happen at hotels. Parking is tricky – there’s no hotel garage, but there’s a public one about three blocks away on Calle Cuna that’s not too expensive by Seville standards. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM because they seemed pretty strict about that. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s a really nice place that does what it promises without any major surprises, good or bad. If you’re looking for something with character in the old town and you want that pool to escape the afternoon heat, this is a solid choice.

    Gorgeous property from the entrance to the room which included a terrace – and beautiful views form the guest terrace on the top floor . Rooms decorated with flair .

    What could be improved: As the property specifically advertises a pool – felt that it could do with more of a regular clean especially around the edges of the pool bottom

    Fantastic location 👏
    Everything you need in the apartment,the roof terrace, and the pool area are great places to rest after a day of sightseeing.
    Arrived early, the room was not quite ready but thankfully allowed us in.

    What could be improved: Outside areas are a little tired. Hopefully, they will keep up the good work and keep them pretty 😍

    Room was very well appointed and spacious. Decor and finish of the room and the property in general was very Spanish / Sevillian and we loved the ceramic tiles everywhere. Kitchen and laundry facilities were also great

    What could be improved: Whilst we loved the local San Marcos Square and general vibe of the immediate neighbourhood, in an ideal world the apartment would have been closer to the centre. A full length mirror would also come in handy. Dish rack for drying dishes needs to be bigger.

    Great location and really good comms re check in and while there. Clean and well equipped. Super comfortable bed.

    What could be improved: We did pay extra for a view but our room didn't have one. Think info from booking.com not passed on so if you book something extra I would make sure santa paula know. Shower not hot enough and no way to turn it up. But really we wanted to have a stress free break and so we did not let these things worry us and we had the best time.

    The bed was very soft , worn, uncomfortable and it has a whole in the middle, killed our back. We had really terrible sleep. In general ecerything else was super.

    What could be improved: Was a little dark but it's the design of the building moreso. Washroom had little bits of sand or something everywhere.
