Hotel Description
You know what really surprised me about Sercotel Sevilla Guadalquivir Suites? It’s tucked away on this narrow street called Calle Calatrava, and honestly, when the taxi first dropped me off, I thought we’d gotten lost. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Sevilla’s old town – we’re talking cobblestones and buildings that have been around since before Columbus set sail – but the hotel itself feels refreshingly modern without trying too hard to be trendy.
The suite setup is actually pretty clever. Instead of cramming everything into one room like most European hotels, you get this proper separation between your sleeping and living areas, which makes a huge difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either – there’s a decent-sized fridge and real plates, not those flimsy plastic things. I ended up grabbing jamón and cheese from the little market around the corner on Calle Sierpes (about a three-minute walk) and having breakfast on the tiny balcony overlooking the street. Speaking of which, don’t worry about noise – yes, you’re in the center of everything, but Calle Calatrava doesn’t get the heavy foot traffic that some of the main tourist drags do.
What I really appreciated was how the staff actually seemed to know Sevilla, not just the hotel. When I asked about getting to the cathedral early to avoid crowds, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the obvious route – he told me about cutting through Plaza del Salvador, which saves you about ten minutes and takes you past this gorgeous little church that most tourists miss completely. The walk to the cathedral is maybe eight minutes if you’re moving at a reasonable pace, and you’ll pass at least three places that do proper tortilla española for breakfast. Location-wise, you’re close enough to everything that matters – the Alcázar, the cathedral, even the Triana bridge – but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I stayed there in late September when it was still pretty warm, and the air conditioning worked without sounding like a helicopter landing on the roof. Check-in was smooth, though they do that European thing where they hold onto your passport for a bit longer than feels comfortable. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Sevilla rather than just visiting it – if that makes sense.

What could be improved: No full size mirror. Not enough sun shades in the roof top. One was broken and left to share 2 others.

Cozy, clean, new furniture. There is a swimming pool with a terrace and an elevator. Decently quiet
What could be improved: Furniture layout is a bit weird: you can’t watch tv from the sofa, bedside table only on one side of the bed. Curtains should be a bit wider as the street lights get in. No corkscrew and only one fork. Nothing bad just a bit inconvenient.Maartje from Netherlands – 1 May 2025 (8/10)
It was a really nice place, clean, spacious, amazing bed and friendly staff!
What could be improved: I think overall this is overpriced. The location is a bit far. Internet worked on and off, so not amazingly. The pool is more like a jacuzzi.Louise from Germany – 26 April 2025 (7/10)
Clean, comfortable room and central location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Beds for baby and dog provided making it easy to stay as a family 🙂
What could be improved: The pool was smaller than expected and unfortunately there was a random alarm going off in the building for a few hours at night. We didn’t get any dish soap or dishwasher tablets etc which made cleaning hard. For a stay of one night, we wouldn’t bring those things with us. No hotel parking available – need to find public parking nearby and then walk with the luggage which is not the most convenient but manageable.Brendan from Ireland – 26 April 2025 (9/10)

Very spacious, clean and good location
What could be improved: TV only had Spanish channels, we were not able to login to Netflix or youtubeJennifer from United Kingdom – 2 March 2025 (8/10)
Everything spotlessly clean. Well organised and rooms layout well thought out. Good quality bathroom and kitchen. Reception helpful and friendly. Felt well organised and run.
What could be improved: Main bedroom windows facing opposite flat very close. Have to keep your blinds almost down until you are dressed. Bedroom below reflects very clearly onto the window above opposite when their blinds are down which could be embarrassing. Anybody using the plunge pool or sun roof above can see straight into your bedroom. The "view over rooftops" a bit misleading, you can see some residential roofs with a church a long way away, but not a problem as I was out all day. It was still too cold for the pool and sun roof to open, but the view over Seville was a bit better up there.Carina from United Kingdom – 7 February 2025 (7/10)
Large size bed, comfortable, easy access to key locations
What could be improved: Curtains/ blinds fitted in a way that let it lots of light – luckily we had eye masks.Krista from United Kingdom – 6 February 2025 (8/10)
