You know what surprised me most about this place on Calle Mateo Alemán? How quiet it actually is despite being smack in the middle of Seville’s old town. I mean, you’re literally steps from the cathedral and all the tourist chaos, but this little street feels like a pocket of calm – probably because it’s tucked away from the main pedestrian routes that everyone follows.

The apartment itself is honestly what I’d want if I were living in Seville for a month, not just visiting for a weekend. It’s got that functional European vibe where everything has its place, and the bathroom is surprisingly spacious (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with Spanish summer heat and need proper shower space). The best part though is the exterior location – you get actual street views and natural light, which sounds basic but half the apartments in this neighborhood face interior courtyards that can feel pretty cave-like. I stayed here during late spring when the weather was perfect for keeping windows open, and you’d catch these amazing cooking smells drifting up from nearby tapas spots around dinner time.

What really works about the location is how walkable everything is without feeling touristy. Sure, you can hit the Alcázar in about eight minutes, but you’re also close to where actual sevillanos grab coffee – there’s this little place around the corner that does proper tostada con tomate that’s become my morning ritual whenever I’m back in town. The metro isn’t super close, but honestly, you won’t need it much since most of what you want to see is within walking distance. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving (the old town streets weren’t exactly designed for cars), but that’s pretty standard for this part of the city. I’d say the only real downside is that grocery runs require a bit of planning since the nearest supermarket is a solid ten-minute walk, though there are plenty of small shops nearby for basics. The building itself feels well-maintained – not fancy, but you can tell someone actually cares about keeping things working properly, which honestly puts it ahead of a lot of places I’ve stayed in Seville’s historic center.
