You know what struck me first about Suite Apartament Cathedral? The building itself – it’s one of those classic Sevillian structures where you walk through this gorgeous tiled entrance hall and think “okay, this is actually happening.” The apartment is on the second floor (no elevator, but honestly, it’s just two flights), and when you open that door… I mean, the space is genuinely impressive. These aren’t your typical cramped European apartment rentals. The ceilings are high, there’s actual room to breathe, and the whole place has this lived-in elegance that feels authentic rather than staged.
The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the heart of everything without dealing with the tourist chaos of the main cathedral square. Calle Tomás de Ibarra is this quiet little street that somehow manages to be incredibly central while still feeling residential. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral – and I timed it because I’m that person – but you won’t hear tour groups at 7 AM. The neighborhood has that authentic Seville vibe where you’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in the small plazas. There’s a fantastic little tapas place called Bar Alfalfa just around the corner that most tourists never find, and honestly, that alone made my stay. The apartment itself is well-equipped (the kitchen actually has everything you need, not just the bare minimum), and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, which isn’t always a given in these old buildings.
What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the fact that it feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental. The beds are comfortable – like, genuinely comfortable, not just “fine for a few nights” – and there’s proper storage space for your clothes. The bathroom has great water pressure, which you’ll appreciate after walking around Seville all day in the heat. I stayed in September when it was still pretty warm, and the air conditioning worked well without being noisy. Check-in was smooth (they meet you at the apartment), and the hosts were responsive when I had questions about the area. My only minor complaint would be that the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights – nothing terrible, just the sound of people enjoying themselves, which is sort of part of the Seville experience anyway. For the price point and location, this place delivers exactly what it promises, and that 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there.

The communication with the host was excellent, and the host provided lots of useful information. The apartment was bright, clean, tidy, and well-equipped. It was in a quiet area despite being centrally located, making it easy to get to tourist spots. There were also plenty of great restaurants nearby. Although it’s in the city center, there was no noise at all. The air conditioning was cold enough, and the place was very quiet, allowing for a good sleep.

We used this as a base for 5 nights at the start of April. From the start, the owner was excellent at communicating, gave very clear instructions via what’s app on how to find and enter the building, and sent us useful information at the start of our stay in regards to local amenities. The apartment was ideal for a couple, but had 2 sofa beds in the lounge area too so would work for a larger group. The best part about the apartment for us was the beautiful roof terrace. Whilst we were there it was having a cosmetic upgrade, and now looks even better than when we arrived. It is a private space used only by the apartment occupiers, accessed by an external staircase, including 2 sun loungers, astroturf flooring, a table & 4 comfortable chairs with parasol, and a new viewing platform with 2 more chairs which has a view of the cathedral. It also has an outdoor shower which we used to cool ourselves down with on the warmer days. This space meant that we could sight see during the cooler periods of the day, relax at the apartment in the sunshine and be in the centre of the city at all times. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Cathedral Suite Apartment was one of the best accommodations over our one month trip in Portugal and Spain.
The location was central, the apartment was spacious and quiet, very clean and comfortable. But the best part were the hosts who greeted us wine and tasty Ines Rosales tortas
