You know what struck me first about Suites San Esteban 16? The building itself – it’s this beautifully restored traditional Sevillian house right in the heart of the old quarter, and honestly, walking up to that classic wooden door on Calle San Esteban feels like you’re about to stay at a friend’s family place rather than some sterile hotel. The location is actually perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos on the main drags – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Cathedral, but tucked away on this quieter residential street where you can actually hear yourself think.

The suites themselves are what really got me though. I mean, these aren’t your typical hotel rooms – they’ve got this authentic Andalusian character with high ceilings, original tile work, and enough space to actually unpack your stuff (which, let’s be honest, is rare in European city centers). The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too – I actually ended up cooking breakfast a couple mornings using ingredients from the little market on Calle Feria. The owners clearly put thought into the details; there’s proper lighting for reading, the air conditioning works without sounding like a freight train, and the WiFi is solid throughout. One small thing that impressed me – they’ve got blackout curtains that actually work, which is a godsend when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag and the Sevillian sun is blazing at 7 AM.

What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to the neighborhood. Your morning coffee spot becomes Bar Giralda just around the corner (locals love it, tourists haven’t discovered it yet), and you’ll find yourself taking shortcuts through tiny alleys that most visitors never see. The building can get a bit echo-y – you might hear your upstairs neighbors occasionally – but honestly, that’s part of the charm of staying in these old converted houses. Plus, after a day of wandering through the Alcázar gardens or getting lost in the Santa Cruz maze, coming back to San Esteban 16 feels like coming home. The staff is genuinely helpful without being hovering, and they’ll point you toward the good tapas spots that aren’t tourist traps. Just a heads up though – if you’re planning to visit during Semana Santa or the April Fair, book way ahead because places like this fill up fast with people who know Seville well enough to avoid the big chain hotels.

  Great location, easy access, clean and comfortable, contemporary design but with some character, wonderful view of the church. Lovely café for breakfast 1 minute walk away.
  
  What could be improved: Slight noise from the street but this is to be expected in a city. Earplugs were provided.

  Beautiful clean and great location, it had an AC unit in bedroom as well as the living room which kept our kids sleeping in the sofa bed and they did not crawl into our room, plenty of pillows and towel provided, the host was very responsive and replied to every need within 5 mins. The location is great with waking distance to a lot of attractions.

  Beautiful decoration and very clean. It was easy walking to the main sites (though the road itself is not pram friendly, perfectly easy if not). Lots of helpful information given. Well equipped if you wanted to cook. It was quick walking to the train station too.

  What could be improved: Didn’t realise when I booked that the hot tub was seasonal and not available in winter. Due to the prime location and time of year there was some outside noise late at night but expected that and the hosts did leave early plugs which was a nice touch.

  A nice home setting. Angela provided us with a variety of snacks, breads, hams, milk and juice for your breakfast, even a bottle of champagne. Exceeded our expectations. 10 minutes of walk to the Cathedral and the Alcarza.
