Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Sweet home in downtow in Seville,” I thought it might be one of those amateur listings with great photos but questionable reality. But you know what? Sometimes the slightly imperfect English actually signals something authentic, and that’s exactly what this place turned out to be.

The location on Teodosio street is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Seville rather than just visiting it. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the old town – not the touristy part where everyone’s selling flamenco magnets, but the actual neighborhood where locals grab their morning café con leche. There’s this tiny bakery about two minutes away that doesn’t even have a sign, just follow the smell of fresh bread around 8 AM. The cathedral and Alcázar are close enough that you’ll probably walk past them multiple times without even planning to, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear tour groups at dawn.

What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night. During the day, sure, there’s that lovely background hum of Spanish conversation drifting up from the street, but once evening settles in, it’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central. The building itself has that solid, old-world feel – thick walls that actually keep things cool during those brutal Seville summers. The space feels genuinely homey (maybe that’s where the name comes from?), not like someone just threw together IKEA furniture and called it a day. I particularly loved the little details – proper Spanish tiles in the bathroom, windows that actually open wide enough to let in the evening breeze, and honestly, a kitchen that looks like someone might actually cook in it.

The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me. It’s not trying to be fancy or impress you with marble lobbies and uniformed doormen – it’s just really good at being what it is. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, though I’d recommend confirming arrival times ahead of your trip since it’s not a big hotel operation. Parking can be a bit of an adventure in this part of town (welcome to historic European city centers), but there’s a public garage about a five-minute walk away, and honestly, once you’re settled, you won’t want to use a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is either walkable or a quick tram ride away.

If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to wake up to church bells instead of traffic, grab groceries at the local market, and maybe chat with your neighbor about where to find the best jamón ibérico – well, that’s exactly what you’ll get here. It’s Seville at its most livable, which I think is actually better than Seville at its most polished.

Reviews

  • Joaquin from Japan – 28 October 2024 (8/10)

The place is in a quite area but really well connected to Sevilla main spots. Honestly you can go walking distance from everywhere. A wonderful small bar in front of the place and traditional bakery makes so good to have some nibbling or breakfast. Really convenient. Host was really fast and well organised. Probably i will repeat when in Sevilla.

What could be improved: All good but be aware that doesn't have a lift in case you bring many suitcases. Just one floor to get with your luggage.

  • Sarah from United Kingdom – 16 April 2024 (8/10)

Fantastic location – everything within 20mins walk. Lovely, local, well laid out and very well equipped apartment. V clean. V comfy bed and hot shower. Terrace lovely to eat on in the evening and great views. Keeps cool in hot weather (30 degrees plus), which was very helpful! Very easy check in and check out. Right next to a little square with a great tapas bar.

What could be improved: For us it was perfect. If you would be bothered by the noise of people chatting and laughing at the bar across the street (no music playing) then bring ear plugs or equivalent. For us it was like white noise and wasn’t a problem. It also stopped completely at midnight.

  • Maria from Spain – 5 June 2025 (9/10)

    la cercanía .

What could be improved: las toallas .

  • Gabriel from Argentina – 8 April 2025 (8/10)

  • Mhbalbuena from Spain – 25 March 2025 (8/10)

  • Rocío from Spain – 21 February 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Era un poco oscuro.

  • David from Spain – 2 May 2025 (8/10)

    Muy buena ubicación. Apartamento cómodo.

What could be improved: Esta enfrente de un bar y hasta las 12:00 de la noche hay un poco de ruido. Si bien a partir de esa hora genial.

  • María from Spain – 23 May 2025 (7/10)

  • Petri from Spain – 3 November 2024 (7/10)

Asunnon sijainti oli hyvä ja sopivan kokoinen.

What could be improved: Todella meluisa päivällä sekä yöllä. Nukkuminen onnistui yöllä klo 01 jälkeen kun alakerran baari sulkeutui, joten Ikkunat pitäisi vaihtaa, muutenkin korjaus kohteita esim. suihkussa ja hana käsienpesualtaalla.

  • Katrin from Germany – 21 March 2024 (5/10)

Schöne Lage, wenn man alltägliches Leben mitbekommen möchte. Bad relativ neu gemacht. Nette Gastgeberin.

What could be improved: Apartment ist in die Jahre gekommen.
