You know what struck me first about Veoapartment Ponce León? The address alone tells you everything – you’re literally staying on one of Seville’s most iconic plazas, right in the thick of the old town. I mean, when you step out the door at Portal 4, you’re immediately surrounded by that gorgeous Mudéjar architecture and the kind of narrow cobblestone streets that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a history book.

The apartment itself is honestly better than most hotels I’ve stayed in around here. It’s got that perfect balance of old Seville charm without feeling like you’re roughing it – the kind of place where you’ll find modern amenities tucked into a building that’s probably seen centuries of stories. The Plaza Ponce de León isn’t one of those tourist traps either (well, not completely anyway). Sure, you’ll get some foot traffic during the day, but honestly, the evening vibe is what got me. There’s something magical about having your morning coffee while watching locals head to work across the plaza, then coming back after a day of sightseeing to find the whole area transformed into this atmospheric evening scene.

Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot of everything without being right on top of the cathedral crowds. The Santa Cruz neighborhood is literally a five-minute walk, and you can easily stroll to the Alcázar without dealing with the chaos of staying right next to it. What I really appreciated was how walkable everything felt – you’re close enough to duck back for an afternoon siesta (which, let’s be honest, you’ll need in Seville’s heat), but far enough from the main tourist drags that you get a bit of that authentic neighborhood feeling. The building’s entrance through the portal gives you this nice sense of privacy too, like you’re staying in a local secret rather than some obvious tourist accommodation.

Parking can be a bit tricky around here – I’d honestly recommend just using the public transport or walking everywhere once you arrive. The narrow streets weren’t exactly designed for modern cars, but that’s part of the charm, right? The 8.8 rating makes complete sense when you factor in both the location and the quality of the space itself. It’s not trying to be some luxury resort experience, but rather a really solid, comfortable base that happens to put you right in the heart of one of Spain’s most enchanting cities. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels integrated into the neighborhood rather than separated from it – you’ll find yourself becoming a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

    Great location. Felt very safe and quiet. Loved the terrace and the view of the courtyard. Well equipped. Near supermarket, restaurants and easy walking distance to the centre and the station.

    What could be improved: The bathroom had a bit of a musty smell.

    Wonderful location, quiet but close to all of central Sevilla. Near to supermarket, bars and restaurants. Lovely modern flat with all you need. Beautiful, private terrace to sit out on.

    What could be improved: With a 10 day stay a change of linen would have been appreciated.

    Well appointed and comfortable apartment in a lovely older building with a beautiful inside courtyard overlooked by a nice balcony. Great location – easy walking distance to everything in the historic part of Seville. Gated site with good security. Manuel met us at the door, handled all our questions and made sure we were comfortable with all aspects of the flat.

    What could be improved: While functional, the kitchen is cramped but this is a very minor issue. Unfortunately it rained two out of four days, but c'est la vie.
