Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Virgen de los Reyes? It’s got this unassuming elegance that makes perfect sense once you realize where it sits. Right on Avenida Luis Montoto – which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is – this four-star spot is actually tucked into one of those neighborhoods where real Sevillanos live and work, not just the touristy maze near the cathedral. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything (Santa Justa train station is literally a fifteen-minute walk), but you get to experience Seville like someone who actually lives here.

The thing about this place is that it feels… substantial, I guess? Like, you walk into the lobby and there’s this sense that they’ve been doing this for a while and know what they’re about. The staff genuinely seems to care – not in that overly rehearsed way you get sometimes, but more like they’re actually proud of the place. My room was on the fifth floor (there’s a proper elevator, thank god), and honestly, the view over the neighborhood rooftops gave me a better sense of the city than any postcard shot of the Giralda. You can see how Seville spreads out beyond the historic center, all those white buildings with their terracotta tiles catching the afternoon light.

What really won me over was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The AC works properly – crucial in Seville’s summer heat – and the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. The bathroom had decent water pressure, which sounds boring until you’ve spent three days elsewhere with a shower that barely drizzles. And here’s something specific: the soundproofing is really good. Montoto can get busy during rush hour, but I never felt like I was sleeping next to a highway. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet after 10 PM anyway, since it’s mostly residential once you get off the main avenue. You’ll hear the occasional motorcycle (this is Spain, after all), but nothing that’ll keep you up. I’d definitely go back – it’s got that sweet spot of being nice enough to feel special but not so fancy that you’re afraid to leave your wet towel on the bathroom floor.

Reviews

  • Maria from United Kingdom – 12 June 2025 (7/10)

    Excellent room and location

What could be improved: The lift was not working to the fifth floor where my room was located. Thankfully the receptionist took up my luggage from the fourth to the fifth floor.
The air con is not operational on the common areas on the floors where the rooms are located.
The ramp to the lobby can only be opened from the reception desk. Bearing in mind you arrive with luggage it makes no sense that the ramp is not accessible unless the receptionist happens to see you and opens the ramp door. Instead one has to go up three steps with luggage at 40 degrees celsius. Totally unnecessary when a ramp is available

  • Andrew from Gibraltar – 2 June 2025 (9/10)

    Proximity to restaurants.
    Spacious rooms.

  • Simon from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

Locality to football stadium and metro link. Breakfast was great!

What could be improved: Parking charge was high.

  • Preslav from Bulgaria – 21 May 2025 (8/10)

Possibility to park in paid parking close to the hotel (5-7 min on foot).
The city center can be reached easily as there is bus stop close to the hotel.

What could be improved: Not applicable.

  • Cath from United Kingdom – 16 May 2025 (9/10)

Clean, comfortable, lovely shower, good breakfast. Andrea on reception was really helpful. She let us check in early and gave us lots of information about what to see and public transport.

  • Gwyneth from United Kingdom – 30 April 2025 (9/10)

It was the night of the blackout. Lovely staff, had to deal without internet for booking in by torchlight. And found us beers ( not really relevant but I will never forget the walk from the bus stop at Santa Justa to this hotel, bumping into trees, hence the need for beers)
The shower was perfect, the bedding clean, and the bottled water very welcome.

What could be improved: The plastic bedsheet. If I'd been less tired it would have been removed.

  • Sebastian from Poland – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: that you have to book parking in advance

  • Denise from United Kingdom – 1 March 2025 (8/10)

Great walk-in shower room very clean
    Comfortable beds Reception
    Good buffet breakfast

  • Kamil from Poland – 28 January 2025 (9/10)

Breakfast was good, rooms comfortable, city transport ok to get to city centre. Parking has a small entrance gate, however VW Tiguan fit there just fine. The room I got had a very small window, but I don't mind that much, it was a reservation made 1 day before my stay and I was there for just one night before moving further with my travel plans

  • Emel from Turkey – 19 January 2025 (9/10)

    Everything was very good

What could be improved: Weak wi-fi in the room
