You know what struck me first about Whitey House? The name’s a bit odd for Seville, honestly, but the moment you step inside this converted traditional house on Calle Virgen del Buen Aire, you get it – there’s something refreshingly clean and bright about the whole place that just works. I mean, you’re right in the heart of Triana, which if you don’t know, is basically the soul of Seville across the river from the main tourist zone. This isn’t some sterile chain hotel – it’s got character, and the 8.5 rating actually feels spot-on.

What I love about staying here is that you’re living like a local, sort of. Triana’s where the flamenco really comes from (not the touristy tablaos in the center), and you’ll hear actual guitarists practicing in the evenings if you keep your windows open. The street itself is pretty quiet – well, by Spanish standards anyway – though you’ll get the occasional motorbike rumbling by in the morning. The rooms have this nice mix of traditional Andalusian tiles and modern touches that don’t feel forced. Actually, the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for a converted house, and the air conditioning works properly, which honestly matters more than you think when it’s 40 degrees in July.

Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re here – you’re a five-minute walk to the Mercado de Triana, where you can grab amazing jamón and cheese for basically nothing, and the Isabel II bridge is right there when you want to cross over to see the cathedral or whatever. But you’re also stumbling distance from some incredible little bars that serve tortillitas de camarones that’ll ruin you for the tourist versions forever. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – like, really knows it – so they’ll point you toward the good stuff. I had them call ahead to book a table at a tiny place around the corner that doesn’t even have a sign, and it ended up being one of those meals you remember years later. The whole experience feels more authentic than staying in the Barrio Santa Cruz where every other building is a souvenir shop. Plus, parking’s not completely impossible here if you’re driving, though I’d still recommend just walking everywhere once you arrive.

  Alojamiento cómodo, camas acogedoras y ubicación inmejorable. Muy cerca del centro, 10 minutos a pie. Tiene todo lo que necesitas para pasar unos días

  La ubicación no puede ser mejor! Todo estaba muy cerca de la casa, hay muchas cosas que ver alrededor. Volveremos a alojarnos en el futuro sin duda alguna.

  Muy buena ubicación, cercana al centro con posibilidad de dejar el auto estacionado. La zona es silenciosa y descansamos perfecto. El depto es amplio y tiene de todo para cocinar, todos los utensilios y electrodomésticos estaban para estrenar.
  
  What could be improved: Había un leve olor a humedad en general, y en una de las habitaciones también olían a humedad las sábanas, como si no las hubieran cambiado recientemente. Para subir a la cama de arriba de la cucheta había una escalera muy incómoda, era difícil subir y especialmente bajar, te podías caer.
  Esto ya no corresponde al dueño del depto, pero aviso: las calles son estrechas y hay muchos autos. Para quien venga con auto, no estacionen sobre la vereda aunque el resto de los sevillanos sí lo hagan, porque si tienen mala suerte y alguien lo denuncia, los pueden multar (como a nosotros).

  A localização era muito boa, estávamos a 20 minutos das principais atrações de Sevilha. A rever o colchão que era muito duro e o cheiro a mofo.
